Goodbye Busy October

October was the busiest month for me this year thus far. I’m still tired from my event last night at the Westchester County Association. The organization was celebrating 60 years of service to Westchester County. A part from work events, classes seem to be getting more challenging. Mid-term grades are finally in. I wasn’t so enthusiastic about my grades but I know at the end of the semester, things will get better.

My 8
th grade teacher once told me, “Living an optimistic lifestyle is imperative”. I’ve kept this concept for years and it has been working for me. As long as I continue to work hard throughout the semester, I know my grades and everything else in my life will be just fine.

Happy

So the week has finally come to an end and I’m beyond happy to start my weekend. I had two midterms, and two term papers to hand in this week. I had approximately 5.5 hours of sleep every day since Sunday night and I’m ready to get some much needed rest. Apart from school, everything in my life is going great. I’ve never been more happier and enthusiastic. Next week I have about three work events and new segments for each of my classes. The BBA Program at CW just keeps getting more challenging. Everyone constantly tells me to “hang in there” but sometimes I just feel like running away to a much quieter place; my bed perhaps. December 2011… hurry up already!

Outside of CW

I finally was able to go to an offsite event, Wednesday the 13th. The RBA luncheon was Career Services’ main concern; an event that we sponsored with attendance of approximately 140 people. The Rockland Business Association is made up of various small businesses in Rockland County and financial advisors. This event gave people the opportunity to network. My co-worker and I were fortunate to actually speak and give a brief description of The College of Westchester and our experience. I was a little bit nervous but the event was very successful. The rest of my busy schedule this week consists of the 2nd Annual Alumni Dinner and also the Fall Festival hosted by counselors in the Admissions department. I also have plenty of assignments to complete. Busy October is what I’ve been calling it. I can honestly say, I’m looking forward to winter.

Busy Schedule

I’ve written more things in my October section of my planner than September; things aren’t getting any easier. Midterms are a week away, project deadlines, homework and other non school related tasked are just taking over my calendar. This past weekend I saw the movie “The Social Network”, a film that portrayed the creator of Facebook, Mark Zuckerburg. This film wasn’t just about a social networking site, it was about creativity and pursing something you love. There are many factors of the movie that motivated me to put more energy in creating a business with a good friend of mine. A busy schedule was something that I always wanted to avoid, but now I yearn even more for it. Nonetheless, school is taking over my life, in a good way. I’m looking forward to the end of the semester… as always!

Progress

My time management techniques have allowed me to get by this week stress free. The CW calendar that was given to me during orientation has helped me immensely. I found myself constantly opening the calendar, making notes of test/presentation dates, and even staying in school late at night to study. It’s been a hectic week. Now that the weekend is here, I still don’t feel any comfort. So many papers to type and edit, and to make matters worse, the weather in NYC is amazingly nasty. Torrential downpour, gusty winds, and power outages are occurring. I can’t wait for the semester to be over.
