Getting Closer

This past week was nothing but a breeze, although I felt somewhat stressed due to my basketball team not advancing further in the White Plains Men’s League playoffs. I was asked to be a part of my colleges search committee as the Library is in search of a part-time digital services librarian. This was a tremendous opportunity to get first-hand access to the interview process and steps needed to hire the right candidate. I am extremely appreciative to be a part of this. Classes went smooth as we continue to plan ahead for project dates and final exams. I am looking forward to my oral presentations and upcoming presentations as well. This semester seems to be longer than usual. I try not to think about it so much as I cannot help but to countdown the days when the semester ends. I’m hoping next week will fly by smoothly as well.

I keep hearing rumors of today’s weather hitting 70 degrees. Perhaps going to the beach later on is the best way to take advantage of it?

Crazy Week

Now I can take the time to kick back and relax as the week is almost over. I told you guys that March would be exceptionally crazy for me. The beginning of my week started in Albany, NY where I was voicing my opinion to our State and U.S Government on cutting TAP (Tuition Assistance Program), a student based grant that helps students enroll into traffic and help reduce loans as well. On Wednesday, my office also had a Spring Career Fair which was so successful. Later on that night, I attended the WCA Young Professionals Networking Event. I met lots of employers and was given helpful tips on how to succeed in the workplace. Thursday was even crazier as I had 3 classes and needed to help out with the Mega Mixer event hosted by the Business Council of Westchester. I love the fast paced lifestyle and I enjoy all the opportunities that I’m given.

I thank all of my success thus far to The College of Westchester. Being enrolled at this college allows me to grow and be confident in anything I want to strive for.

The semester is almost over and I am looking forward to some vacation time.

By the way my basketball team, the CW Warriors, finished the season 9-3 and we are in the playoffs!

Stay tuned for more exciting updates and entries.

Busy March

So the first half of my 2nd semester in the BBA program is complete and I earned a 3.7 GPA. I was very happy with my midterm grades and I hope that I can do even better for the end of the semester. Beside the never ending school work, my March has been pretty hectic, from projects and finals, to off campus work events and other festivities. I’m excited, but I’m just exhausted. Next week I’ll be in Albany voicing my opinion about the State of New York reducing the amount of grants it gives to students. I don’t understand how our state, including President Obama would want to reduce any type of education grants if the children is the future of our nation. On the flip side, my departments Spring Career fair this week looks very promising as the career counselor work non-stop to get employers to attend the event. I can go on and on about what this March has in store for me but overall, I couldn’t be happier.

I’m especially eager for spring break to come. I’ve been crossing my fingers to go on vacation, hopefully!

About 40 days till the end of the semester
